OKAY… So I drove home from Steph and Gerry’s engagement session laughing so hard. I kept replaying the night over in my head and I honestly just couldn’t stop laughing. This shoot was so amazing from beginning to end. I went into the session super pumped because we were doing something totally different and something I had never done before. We were shooting at a fair. Few things I didn’t realize.
It was “kid’s night”. So I can’t express to you how many people and kids were there.
The workers, carnies if you will, are very entertaining. They had a lot to say about EVERYTHING. One even asked Gerry if I had a card. Gerry was all excited thinking he was being serious but Steph and I agreed that he had other incentives with the card.
It is SO loud at fairs. There were sirens, banging noises and noises that sounded like gun shots.
Cotton candy no longer comes on a stick. One worker explained that it was because of the health code, but if you saw this mad I highly doubt he was up to health code.
The fair was just an insane experience and the fact that we got as many photos as we did was nothing short of a miracle. I had so much fun shooting something new. Next we headed over to the beach to do some photos there. By the time we got on the beach the sun was pretty much set, so we were shooting with whatever light was left. And holy cow was it amazing light. We were so hot by this point that we were all running around the water. If I had a change of clothes I totally would have gone for a dip. It was so amazing and warm. The night was a total success and I even got to meet Gerry’s mom and brother, along with their dog and Steph’s grandfather. I know I keep saying it, but I seriously had so much fun and it made me SO excited for their 2016 wedding. You guys are the best! Miss you already!
