I remember when I was working at my corporate job, just sitting there wondering what I would do if I could do ANYTHING. A few things entered my mind, but the first thing was “I’d love to be a photographer.” At that time, I had NO clue what that entailed. Literally none. I thought, “wow how fun would that be to take pictures of people. That would be so fun and easy.” WRONG… well kind of. Yes it is fun, but no it isn’t easy. There is SO much that goes into the back end that nobody ever thinks about. Nobody told me I was my own IT guy, my own HR person. I had to figure out EVERYTHING about running a legal/legit business on my own. There was so much sweat and tears that at some points I literally was about to run. I was so burnt out and to this day I still get burnt out. I still get so frustrated because I cant figure out WHY NOTHING WORKS. I cant tell you how many times I have called Eric screaming “nothing works and I just want to quit”. But when things calm down and you get to work with some amazing clients that are so appreciative and in love with everything you do for them it makes it all worth it. When I first started if you would have told me that I would be traveling around the US photographing clients I would have laughed. Charleston, SC was on my bucket list of dream locations to shoot. So when Leah and Derek asked if I was willing to take a trip to SC to shoot their engagement session I jumped on it!
